This is sort of a follow up post to the one I did a while ago on Joe Rogan coaching GSP on his spinning back kick. The spinning back kick was Joe’s ‘move’ when he was training in Tae Kwon Do and in this video Joe demonstrates the spinning back kick, with very nice form, speed and power.
One of the main problems in the proper execution of the spinning back kick (or turning side kick) is the turn itself and Joe shows you how to turn on the ball of your foot rather than spin with your arms and torso.
Another good point that Joe makes is that many fighters fail to use their hips to their full potential and so he demonstrates how it should be done!
