Jose Aldo da Silva Oliveira Junior is a Brazilian mixed martial artist. He currently fights in the WEC Featherweight division, where he is the Featherweight Champion. In his debut with the organization he defeated well renowned fighter Alexandre Franca Nogueira at WEC 34: Faber vs. Pulver.
Although he has a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Aldo has been making his name as a striker with six of his WEC fights ending victoriously by knockout or technical knockout. Aldo fights out of the Nova Uniao camp along with notable fighters such as former Shooto Welterweight Champion and Cage Rage Lightweight Champion Vitor “Shaolin” Ribeiro, former IFL Featherweight Champion Wagnney Fabiano, and former UFC Middleweight contender Thales Leites.
