Got an email from the DieselCrew on how to do a one arm pull up with proper form, which was a good article too, but I came across this one and had to share it being the biggest Little Dragon fan that I am!

Here is a video of Jim performing one of my favorite exercises for core training, the Dragon Flag, or just ‘The Flag’ if you like. I don’t think Ive ever done them with ankle weights on.

As you’ll see in the video, Smitty hit 5 reps on the first set and reckons he could have hit a couple more with good form.  In the second set, he throws on ONE 10lb ankle weight and tries again, then tries TWO 10lb…!

In this video Eric Wong explains the 3 planes of movement for the human body. Understanding the planes of movement is useful for finding sports specific exercises to incorporate into your mma workouts.

As Eric points out, most guys only do exercises in the linear planes of motion, leaving out the most important plane of motion for knockout power – the transverse (rotational) plane.

Not previously a big fan of Kettlebells, Eric demonstrates a kettlebell exercise he borrowed from Scott Sonnen creator of TacFit Training, that is useful for training in the transverse plane

Scott has a new kettlebell training program out, you can see it at… http://www.BestKettlebellExercises.com

Here is a quick video from Smitty of the Dieselcrew showing you how to setup your own wrist roller with minimal equipment.

Here is the equipment you need.
Equipment

- kettlebells or dumbbells

- elastic bands OR rope *

- a power cage

- an Olympic bar

* Rope setup – if you use the rope setup, you might need some duct tape to adhere it to bar so it doesn’t slip around. Also, when we have used the rope setup, we tied a carabiner to the end of the rope to loop around for quick change around.
